Wow what a beautiful day. The tail end of the Northeaster blew through Saturday night, and in spite of the small craft advisories, we decided to give the fishing a try. Instead of the 7 to 10 foot waves we found a flat sea with some swells rolling through. I had the Jeff Moore group out today for some striper fishing, so we ran up to the Sandy Hook Channel were we had caught them real well before the storm. We started trolling stripers, mainly shorts with a few nice fish mixed in, up to 35 inches. No blues up there! Clamming wasn't an option, the dogfish had moved in thick, Big Mistake! We then got a call that the fleet was jigging Bass and Blues right in front of Manasquan Inlet, so we ran down there for some pretty neat jigging, the fish were swirling right up on the surface. During the afternoon the rest of the clouds moved out, and we had a gorgeous finish to a great fall day.
